Are cosmetic dental treatments painful?

Thanks to advances in cosmetic dentistry, most treatments have little or no discomfort. Certain cosmetic dental treatments such as dental bonding are completely pain free. More invasive treatments such as dental implants are carried out under a local anaesthetic so you will not feel anything at the time of treatment. If you are anxious or nervous about treatment, please do talk to us during your consultation and we can discuss options including sedation.

Can I have cosmetic dental treatments on the NHS?

No, NHS treatment does not cover cosmetic dental treatments that are not clinically needed. Cosmetic dentistry covers treatments that enhance the look of your teeth so are not included in NHS services which means you will need to pay privately to have cosmetic dental treatments. At Dunstable Dental Practice, we offer 0% finance for up to 12 months to help make cosmetic dentistry affordable.

Since being absolutely traumatised from a root canal treatment I had here 10 plus yrs ago that was never right but I was too scared to go back and get it sorted. Finally Adam successfully took my crown off and is replacing it for me. He knows how scared I am and reassured me so much. To have trust again in someone is huge for me. I’m just gutted I didn’t go back after it was first done as it was never right and looked hideous. Unfortunately can’t have a white one now due to finance but it has to be better than what I had.
